This past Sunday was Round 1 of the CWIC XRS 2017/18 season!
The Chippenham club have been very busy over the summer getting together a whole hoast of new features for the new CWIC XRS season.
This season we will race on all new ETS carpet and getter a view of the brilliant tracks from the new Drivers stand our venue also had a overhaul with the floor getting resurfaced and all new lights!
All in all in it added up to be a great start to the new season!
We of course carried over the great features of last seasons CWIC XRS with the Hobbywing Justock 13.5 handout motors, Hudy C1 carpet tyres and Hudy carpet gripper hand out additive this combination of controls added up to make the Stock class the most popular class.
The club also introduced a new control tyre to the GT12 class this was mostly well received.
With this being the first run out on the new carpet grip was not there until round 2. The ETS carpet is very dusty to start off with. Bust after the carpet cleaned up grip was good Olly Jefferies reported it to be the best heâ™s raced on in the UK for a long time! Chris Grainger also reported the the track was very nice to drive. Perfectly flat. Nicely presented, bot dots worked great, great layout and good grip!

The GT12 class this year really has fallen in popularity but we hope the addition on the control tyres will bring some back to the class that in recent times has gotten a little outa control!
